Cameroon’s economy is based on:
- Agriculture, which contributes 27% of GDP and 21% of exports;
- Forestry, with one of the richest forest areas in the Congo Basin;
- Fishing, both industrial and small-scale, offers promising prospects: Cameroon’s coastline is well suited to crustacean fishing, and the growing demand for seafood in the sub-region is a strong incentive for potential investors;
- The vast pastures of the north: an ideal setting for intensive livestock farming, supplying raw materials to a canning industry that our economy still lacks;
- Rich wildlife and flora, and a diverse, original culture well suited to developing the tourism industry, a source of foreign currency;
